Late New Years with Yumi's Family (由美の家族と遅い新年会)

Since we were in America during New Year's, we gathered at the Takahashi family a little late for belated New Year's celebration.  For those of you who might not know, the period over New Year's is quite an important time for Japanese families.  Yumi's mom prepared mochi in the Tohoku tradition -- she comes from Miyagi Prefecture.

今年も私たちは年末年始、アメリカで過ごしたので、遅らせばながら、由美の家族と遅い新年会をを祝いました。今年もみんなで楽しいひと時となりました。
