Pastor Tim of CC Nago hosted an annual Nago outreach at 21st Century Park in Nago.  We all drove up from Ginowan and joined them for a fun afternoon.  Some people played games and swam in the beautiful beach there and did "suikawari" (one of Japanese traditional beach games).  After the fun, Pastor Tim shared a message of the Gospel.  It was a great afternoon together. 

CC名護のティム牧師が毎年恒例の名護にある21世紀公園でアウトリーチをしました。宜野湾からもみんなで応援に駆けつけ、楽しい午後になりました。その日はある人たちあゲームをしたり、海で泳いだり、スイカ割りをしたりしました。最後にティム牧師が福音のメッセージを分かちあってくれました。

Kouri Island (古宇利島)

Since Monday was Ocean Day, we cruised up to Kouri Island, which is connected to the NW Okinawan mainland by a very long bridge (check out the photos). The beach was beautiful, and the water was a refreshing break from the July heat. Thankfully we had a nice tarp to sit under and get shade. Kouri is pretty small -- about 15 mins in a car and you've circumnavigated the island. Late on Monday afternoon a horse stood in the middle of the island's main road and blocked traffic for a while.

月曜日は海の日だったのでみんなで北部の古宇利島へ行ってきました。写真を見ても分かるように古宇利島と沖縄本島は長い橋でつながっていて、この綺麗なビーチで泳いできました。感謝にも大きなテントを持っていったので暑さをしのぐことが出来ました。古宇利島は車で約１５分で島一周できるほどの島で、この日は馬が島のメインの道をふさいで渋滞が起きていたとのことでした。

Pineapple Park (パイナップルパーク)

What would a trip to the northern part of Okinawa be without a trip to the Pineapple Park? It's a big tourist spot -- most of the Okinawans with us on the trip had never been there before. We blew right past the educational exhibits showing the process of harvesting the fruit and spent most of the time at the free sample section. Everything pineapple: pineapple cookies, juice, vinegar, dried pineapple, pineapple pie, pineapple cake, and even freshly chopped pineapple.

「パイナップルパーク」へ行かないと北部は語れない？！世界的に有名な（？）パイナップルパークは名護にある観光スポットで、一緒に行った沖縄の地元の人たちは殆ど初めて来たと言っていました（笑）私たちのグループはパイナップルの展示物や歴史のところは殆ど素通りで（笑）、パイナップルのサンプルコーナーへまっしぐら。パイナップル・クッキー、パイナップル・ジュース、パイナップル酢、ドライパイナップル、パイナップル・パイ、パイナップル・ケーキからフレッシュパイナップルまで試食してきました。

Praying for the Lord's blessings and guidance on a new ministry in Nago

Pastor Tim and Ayu are moving to Nago! Nago is in the northern part of Okinawa. They recently signed a contract to rent a house and plan to use it for ministry, perhaps even a cafe. (Koinonia Cafe II?) We took a drive to the north today and stopped by and prayed for the house. It's a nice place! This is the beginning of Calvary Chapel Nago. They are stepping up in faith to see what the Lord will do next. Please keep them in your prayers.

ティム牧師とあゆが沖縄本島北部の名護市へ引っ越すことになりました。先週、名護で借りる家の契約が終わり、これからミニストリーのためにこの家を捧げます。「コイノ二アカフェ2」が始まるかもしれません。今日、北部へ行ってその家をみんなで見に行き、祈る時間を持ってきました。とても素敵なところでした。これがカルバリーチャペル名護の始まりになりますが、ティム牧師とあゆが信仰で踏み出し、主が次になされようとしていることを期待しています。是非、お祈りに覚えて下さい。
