Trevor's Wedding (トレバーの結婚式)

Wow, what a fun time.  I have to say that this was one of the best weddings I've been to.  It was a combination of seeing our good friend wed and the opportunity to spend the time celebrating with our friends from Okinawa.  God bless Trevor and Yumi.

What a fun time it was to hang out with Rob, Joe, Tim, Andrew & Kayo.  This is the first time that we've seen each other since we moved to Tohoku in October 2011.  Thank God for good friends.

Calvary Chapel DC Metro (カルバリーチャペルDCメトロ)

This year, Pastors Jeff and Doug invited us to speak at CC DC Metro.  I shared last year about our work in Okinawa.  But this year I shared a message from Genesis 12 and shared about God's call for us to come to Tohoku.  I felt that sharing our experience would encourage people to step out in faith and do whatever God calls them to do.  We are very thankful to have people who are interested in hearing about us and the work God is doing here.  Thank you to the body at CC DC Metro.

Annapolis, MD, where Chuck went to college, is only 1 hr away from DC, so we stopped by on our way home and took a walking tour of the college.  The weather was beautiful and God blessed us with a good day to stroll through the town before heading south on I-95.  I got to poke my head into the English Department building, where I spent a good bit of time.

Yumi also got to see a friend from the Bible College in Hungary.  Becca and her husband, Chris now lives in Annapolis.  It was good to see her after so many years.

Tour of DC 2 (DC

We liked DC so much that we made a second trip around the capital.  This time we drove into the city and took a walking tour of Arlington National Cemetery and saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Later, we stopped by the Lincoln Memorial -- it was packed.

Hangin' with the Martins

Rose prepared a superb Mexican dinner for us: tacos, beans, chips, and a home-made cake.  It was good to chat with them about the mission field.  Doug and Rose were in Hungary for over 5 years and knew Yumi from her CCBC Europe days.

New Year's Eve (大晦日 )

We rung in the New Year with Doug and Rose, a few friends, and the Martin's daughter, Jeanette, and grandson, Douglas, who was the life of the party.  We played Apples to Apples and had a great night.  Thanks again Doug and Rose for having us at your house.

Tour of D.C. (DC観光)

While in the northern Virginia area, we couldn't pass up the chance to look around the National Mall and Smithsonian museums.  Doug and Rose helped us navigate the D.C. Metro.  It was a great afternoon together.
