CCBC Spring 2011 Begins (CCBC-2011

The Bible College semester has begun already.  It seems like the break between semesters flew by.  This semester many of the Japanese students returned, but many of the English-speaking students are new to Okinawa.  We are praying that God will use these students to reach the lost and encourage the body of Christ here.

New Years Dinner in Fujisawa (新年会)

Back in Japan, we celebrated New Year's with Yumi's family.  The menu: karaage (fried chicken), mochi (pounded rice), and an assortment of other side dishes and vegetables.  Reika and Sae-Chan, our nieces, were glad to see us.  It would great if some of the other Takahashi's came to visit us in Okinawa.

Annapolis, MD, where Chuck went to college, is only 1 hr away from DC, so we stopped by on our way home and took a walking tour of the college.  The weather was beautiful and God blessed us with a good day to stroll through the town before heading south on I-95.  I got to poke my head into the English Department building, where I spent a good bit of time.

Yumi also got to see a friend from the Bible College in Hungary.  Becca and her husband, Chris now lives in Annapolis.  It was good to see her after so many years.

Calvary Chapel DC Metro (カルバリーチャペルDCメトロ)

On Sunday January 2nd we went to CC DC Metro with Doug, Rose, Jeannette, and Douglas.  Pastor Jeff allowed us to speak for a few minutes about what God is doing here in Japan.  I pray that the people there will have a burden for Japan.  Thanks again Pastor Jeff for allowing us to speak.  We were suprised to see our picture on the map at church!  Thank you again for your support and prayers!

Tour of DC 2 (DC

We liked DC so much that we made a second trip around the capital.  This time we drove into the city and took a walking tour of Arlington National Cemetery and saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Later, we stopped by the Lincoln Memorial -- it was packed.
