Japan defeated the United States 3-1 in an overtime shootout to win the country's first-ever Women's World Cup title on Sunday the 18th. We both woke up at 3am to watch the game and received a few text messages from Yumi's parents and friends, who were also up watching. People in Japan were so happy for the team. Well done "Nadeshiko" Japan.
7/18の早朝に、なでしこジャパンがPK戦の末、女子ワールドカップを優勝しました。私たちも朝3時に起きて見ていましたが、私（由美）の両親や友達も同じように起きて見ていたので、試合中にメールが来ていました。この日はこのことで日本中でとても興奮していました。なでしこジャパン、素晴らしい試合をありがとう！
