Driving the East Coast Okinawa (沖縄本島・東海岸ドライブ）

 

Yumi had off from work on Memorial Day, so we went for a drive up the east coast of the island and toured Higashi Village.  Most of the good stuff is on the west coast, but since we'd never been to the NE of Okinawa it was worth a visit.  Well, it is very rural and pretty.  I (Chuck) liked all the hills, but Yumi prefers the beaches.  There aren't many resorts like there are on the west coast, but there are a few very beautiful scenic places to see the Pacific Ocean.  Sadly, we didn't see any churches around.  Check out the pictures of this beautiful island.

この日は会社が休みだったので、久し振りにドライブにでも行こうということになり、沖縄本島の東海岸にある東村へ出掛けて来ました。殆どの沖縄のリゾート地は西海岸に集中しているのですが、なかなか東海岸へ行く機会もなかったのですが、自然が多く、青々とした森林が見渡す限りありました。チャックはどちらかというと山が好きなのですが、私（由美）はビーチ派なので東村に着いて太平洋を見れてよかったです。残念ながらこの地域では教会を見かけませんでしたが、この日撮った写真を何枚か載せます。
