Minna Island (水納島)

On Saturday August 20th, Yumi and I took a day trip to Minna Jima for a snorkeling adventure.  Minna Jima is a small croissant-shaped island that is about 5 miles off the coast of the Okinawa mainland.  In the summer it is packed to the gills with tourists -- there are only about 30 who live on the island.  We brought our own bentos and snorkeled at various places around the island for hours.  The sun was intense, and we both got burned!  But we had a wonderful time looking at all the fishes.

8/20 (土) - 水納島へ日帰りでスノーケリングに行って来ました。水納島はクロワッサンの形をした沖縄本島北部の本部からフェリーで15分で行ける小さな離島です。30人しか住んでいないとのことです。この日はとても日差しが強く、2人とも久し振りに日焼けをしてしまいました。しかし、水納島は写真を見てもらえば分かりますが、とても海の水も透き通っていて、綺麗な魚を沢山見ることが出来て、用意してきた餌を魚にあげることが出来ました。沖縄へ来る機会があれば是非言ってみて下さい。お勧めの離島です。
