On Tuesday, August 2nd, the big event for the day was the Aloha Festival in Higashi Matsushima. We helped out Pastor Travis and teams from Hawaii and several Tokyo churches. There was plenty of Hawaiian stuff going on: shaved ice, hula, Hawaiian-style chicken. The weather worked out and the attendance was great.
Afterwards, we had to make our way over to the Samaritan's Purse camp in Tome. So we dropped off the grill at the cafe in Ishinomaki and went to Joyful for dinner with Roy, Joseph, and Airin Owen. Thankfully the SP staff didn't mind that we showed up after lights-out time.
8/2 (火) - この日のメインイベントは東松島での「アロハ祭り」でした。この祭りのためにハワイからそして東京から多くの人たちが駆けつけ、トラビス牧師の手伝いをしました。ハワイアン風のかき氷やフラダンス、ハワイアン醤油チキンが振る舞われ、素晴らしいイベントになりました。
このイベントの後、私たちのグループは登米郡にあるサマリタンズパース（SP）のベースキャンプへ移動し、その途中、石巻で借りていたグリルを返した後、ロイさんとジョセフとアイリーンと夕飯を食べました。SPベースには消灯時間後に到着したのですが、SPのスタッフの人たちは感謝にも快く迎えてくれました。
