Osaka (大阪)

After leaving Sapporo on Sunday afternoon we had a one-night layover in Osaka. I (Chuck) had never been there. Yumi, on the other hand, was last in Osaka during her Campus Crusade for Christ years. They did extensive outreaches on the university campuses one summer. We stayed near centrally-located Namba Station in a Toyoko Inn and got to see some of the city life. The greatest part about the layover was the famous Osaka okonomiyaki (or "economy yaki" as Rose Martin called it:-). It was rockin! The portions were small (unlike Okinawa), but it tasted so good.
