Day 1: Journey to Sendai (1日目：仙台へ出発)

After a comfortable flight on ANA from Okinawa to Tokyo, we all gathered at Jesus Community (Calvary Chapel Kokubunji) for a meeting over lunch.  Our team consists of a few of us Oki boys, and a few people from Tokyo Horizon Chapel, Calvary Kokubunji, and Pancho Juarez, from America. After loading up in three vans and a 2-ton truck with luggage, supplies, and BBQ fixin's we got on the Tohoku Expressway heading north.

At our first rest stop we felt what was later reported as a 7.1 earthquake.  We were in Tochigi Prefecture at the time.  As a result, the expressway was closed, so we diverted to travel on a small highway.  After dinner and a few aftershocks the expressway re-opened and we were able to make some serious progress.

Once we arrived in Sendai, we prepared for our relief work tomorrow and settled in at the church parsonage at which we're staying.

Even though our journey is only about 12 hours old, the Lord has really shown Himself faithful in many ways.  We're thankful that there were only minimal inconveniences despite such a high-power quake.  We're praying that we'll have a fruitful day tomorrow with lots of divine appointments. We are praying for the leading of the Holy Spirit.

今朝、沖縄から羽田まで飛び、そのままジーザス・コミュニティー（別名：カルバリーチャペル国分寺）がある国分寺へと電車で向かいました。今回の救済支援チームは沖縄から4人、東京ホライズンチャペルのチーム、そして主催者であるカルバリーチャペル国分寺のチームとアメリカから来たパンチョ・ホーレス牧師で構成されています。3台のワゴン車と2トントラックに荷物、物資を荷造りした後、ランチをみんなで食べ、東北自動車道で東北へと向かいました。

夕方には休憩をするために止まったインターチェンジで、後に報告されたマグニチュード7.1の余震を感じました。その時は栃木県にいたのですが、その余震の結果、高速道が一時的に閉鎖されてしまい、高速道から降りて一般道を使って東北へ向かうことになりました。夕食を食べ、幾つかの余震があった後、感謝にも東北自動車道が再開され、高速道を使って仙台へ向かうことが出来ました。

仙台へ到着した後、みんなで次の日の救済支援の準備をし、私たちの滞在している教会の牧師館で一日を終えました。

今回の救済支援が始まってまだわずか12時間ですが、もう既に主の忠実さを多く体験しています。感謝にも今回あった規模の大きい余震にも関わらず、大きな災害になりませんでした。明日から本格的に救済支援が始まりますが、実のある主が用意してくださっている時間になるように祈っています。聖霊に敏感に行動出来るようにみなさんもお祈り下さい。
