Bethany Hamilton (ベサニー・ハミルトン)

Pro surfer Bethany Hamilton made a tour through Tohoku and stopped off in Ishinomaki and Sendai.  She gave a short talk about her experiences and how faith in Christ helped her get through her tragedy.  She was very straightforward about her faith and encouraging.

プロサーファーであり、映画「ソウル・サファー」の主人公にもなったあの有名なベサニー・ハミルトンが東北に来ました。仙台と石巻で教会主催のイベントに登場しました。彼女は13歳の時にサメに片腕を奪われてしまうという不慮の事故をどのようにして乗り越え、彼女が信仰を持っているイエスキリストが彼女を支え導いてくださっているか、笑顔をもってストレートに語ってくださいました。本当に素晴らしい信仰と励まされる証でした。

Sunday Morning Bible Study (日曜日朝の学び)

We started a small Bible study at the former evacuation shelter in Ushiami.  In the piciture above, Kazuki Iha was in attendance and helped lead worship with Jason.  Thanks for the encouragement guys.

牛網にある震災時、避難所として使われていたコミュニティーセンターで聖書の学びを始めました。この日は遊びに来ていた一輝くんがジェイソンと一緒に賛美をしてくれました。励ましありがとう！

Sendai Vegalta Game (仙台ベガルタ)

After spending a few days with us, Kayo and Natsuki had a wedding to get to and headed south, but Kazuki stayed around for a few more days.  He happened to be here when Jason from Pittsburgh was just ariving.  On Jason's first afternoon, we went to watch a Sendai Vegalta -- Sendai's pro soccer team.  Sendai fought hard but their rivals Hiroshima equalized and the final score was 1-1.

なつきと香代は東京で結婚式出席のため、今回は数日間の滞在でしたが、一輝はもう何日間滞在することになり、この日、アメリカのピッツバーグから2週間のミッションで来ているジェイソンを仙台駅に迎えに行った足で仙台のベガルタ（Jリーグチーム）の公式戦に行ってきました。一位二位争いをしていた広島との試合最後で接戦で最終的には引き分けに終わりましたが、Jリーグの試合を見れてとても良かったです。

Korean Cooking Class (スペシャルお茶っこかふぇ＆バイブルタイム - 韓国料理)

Here's Juliann's Korean cooking class.  The ladies really enjoyed learning something foreign but yet not too difficult.  As you can see, Juliann did a great job making it a "hands on" experience.

Juliann and Mustafa (ジュリアンさんとムスタファ君)

Here's with our guests: (L-R) Juliann Lee, her son Mustafa, and Emi.  Juliann and Mustafa visited and helped put on an outreach in Tsukihama.  Juliann, who is Korean, taught the ladies how to make an Americanized version of bulgogi. It was delicious.  And afterwards she shared her powerful testimony.  Emi used her vacatin time to come assist the outreach.  Thanks for coming.

カリフォルニアからジュリアンさんと息子さんのムスタファ君が月浜に来てくれました。韓国人のジュリアンさんは少しアメリカンナイズされている (?) プルコギの料理教室を開いて下さり、地元の参加者の方々にはとても好評でした。又、ジュリアンさんがどのようなきっかけでクリスチャンになったのかという話もして下さり、私もとても感動しました。この週は絵美ちゃんの手伝いもあり、とても素晴らしいアウトリーチが持てました。

Pastor Mark Walsh from New Zealand (マーク・ウォルシュ牧師 from ニュージーランド)

At last, Mark Walsh from New Zealand is here.  Mark ran the internship program while Yumi was interning at the Bible College in Hungary.  He and his family have since moved to New Zealand and started Calvary Chapel Bible Institute New Zealand.  I (Chuck) went to pick him up at 10:20 in the morning but I realized I was 12 hours early -- that's why they wrote P.M. on the ticket.  Oops.  My bad.  So we got to go as a couple and pick him up.  It took him a long time to get here but he looked good.

マーク・ウォルシュさんが沖縄に来ました。マークさんとは私（由美）がハンガリーのバイブルカレッジでインターンプログラムをした時にお世話になった牧師さんです。CCBCヨーロッパのオーストリアとハンガリーキャンパスで10年以上仕えた後、2年前にニュージーランドへ家族と移住し、CCBCの新しいキャンパスを立ち上げました。今回、沖縄で行われたワーシップカンファレンスのメッセンジャーの一人として来日することになり、チャックがマークさんを空港へ迎えに行ったのですが、時間を間違えてしまうというハプニングありましたが、ニュージーランドからの長い道のりでしたが、無事に沖縄へ到着しました。

Dinner with Pastor Kiyomasa, Taeko-san, and Fukiko-chan (清正さん＆たえこさん、蕗子ちゃんと夕食)

We went to have an Okinawa dinner with Pastor Kiyomasa and Taeko-san as well as Fukiko-chan who flew in from Osaka to meet with Pastor Kiyomasa.  We talked about the ministries that we have been part of and had great time getting to know each other.

この夜は大阪から駆けつけてくれたくれた蕗子ちゃんも一緒に沖縄料理を食べに行きました。それぞれ関わってきたミニストリーなどの話をして盛り上がりました。

Pastor Kiyomasa and Taeko-san came from Tokyo to bless us.  Yumi and Pastor Kiyomasa have been corresponding via email for almost 5 years now.  Yet it was their first time meeting each other.  May the Lord bless you as you continue to serve Him in Tokyo.

清正牧師と奥さまのたえこさんが沖縄に来て下さり、私たちを祝福して下さいました。実はここ５年程、私（由美）と清正牧師はメールを通してやり取りをしていたのですが、実際に会うのは今回が初めてでした。主がお二人をこれからも用いて下さり、祝福してくださりますように。
