Jason Leaves for Tokyo

Here's a quick photo of us at Sendai Station before Jason zoomed away on the Shinkansen.  It was a real pleasure having him here and one of the highlihts for our summer.  Please come back bro!

Jason's Concert (ジェイソンのコンサート)

Jason is a rather gifted musician, so we figured "why not have a concert?"  This was the first time we hosted a concert at the Okan Community Center.   Our dear friend Mrs. Ito, bottom picture next to Chuck, was very influential in helping us get permission to have the concert.  Jason played a variety of acoustic songs and shared about God's love.  Good job bro!

Secret Beach (プライベートビーチ)

One Sunday afternoon while Jason was here, we invited Lorena, our former co-worker from Samaritan's Purse to come over.  We ventured out to a "secret" beach near our house.  It's hard to access and you have to swat away some spiders to get there, but it is worth the hike.  While there, we met a gentleman fishing with his dog.  He indicated that while he's not a Christian, he read the Bible years ago.  Since then, we've been meeting for regular Bible studies.  What a divine appointment.

W2 in Tsukihama (月浜でW2!))

Full house!  Simon Watanabe, who we knew from Okinawa, swung by to visit while Kazuki and Jason were here.  It was a Sunday night, so we jokingly called it W2 (this is the name of the Sunday night service at our Okinawa church).   It was fun to have these guys around.

Jason from Pittsburgh (ピッツバーグからジェイソンが来ました)

Meet Jason from Pittsburgh.  He is an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and helps out with a number of ministries at Calvary Chapel Pittsburgh.  Through teaching ESL he has been able to minister to a number of Japanese people living and studying in Pittsburgh.  Jason helped us out greatly while he was here and taught us a thing or two about playing guitar.  Thanks!

Sendai Vegalta Game (仙台ベガルタ)

After spending a few days with us, Kayo and Natsuki had a wedding to get to and headed south, but Kazuki stayed around for a few more days.  He happened to be here when Jason from Pittsburgh was just ariving.  On Jason's first afternoon, we went to watch a Sendai Vegalta -- Sendai's pro soccer team.  Sendai fought hard but their rivals Hiroshima equalized and the final score was 1-1.
