Capernaum (カペナウム)

One of my favorite spots so far was Capernaum. This was the site of Jesus' headquarters during his ministry years. All that is left are some ruins and an active Catholic church. The ruins of the synagogue in which we are standing are not the original -- it was built in the 4th century in the same location as the Capernaum synagogue that is in the scriptures. The other is a picture of what is believed to be Peter's house. It is underneath a Catholic church.

今まで訪ねた中で、自分が一番気に入っている場所はここカペナウムです。ここを拠点にしてイエスがあらゆるところで神の働きをしていました。今は遺跡とカトリック教会だけが残っています。1枚目の写真のバックにある建物はシナゴーグ（ユダヤ教の礼拝堂）はオリジナルのものではなく、聖書にも書かれている、4世紀に建てられたといわれるカペナウムのシナゴーグの同じ場所に建てられたそうです。2枚目の写真はペテロの家だといわれている場所で、現在はカトリックの教会の下にあります。
